Life....

Drew is sitting on the dog's food bowls eating a snack. Sometimes he is so busy and does some funny things. I was not real sure what he was thinking on this day! I guess it must be comfortable!
Drew is reading another book besides his favorite, Barbara Walter's Audition. For some strange reason he likes her book a lot and carries it around. He now like Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series - if you have not read them then you must go get them NOW! I was addicted to her writing style...you get sucked right into them and I swear you can't put them down!
My cute little hero! Drew and his fire hat at Youngsville's Family Day. It was at Hill Ridge Farm's here is Youngsville and it was a fundraiser. We had a lot of fun and loved the food!
Drew driving one of Daddy's fire trucks! Daddy loves to show off his toys to Drew! Gotta love those dimples!

UNC's new Pediatric Ambulance...Super cool since it can transport Preemies! I think it is a pretty new idea to have an ambulance just devoted to Pediatric patients...The staff on the ambulance are all trained to work with kids. It come fully equipped with video games and a TV. No one would want kids to be bored on the way to the hospital! Drew inside Wake Med's Helicopter....Drew was pretty relaxed sitting in here!
Kail is always full of smiles or crying to be held...I just can't win when it comes to him! He has had a lot of first....Ate cereal by spoon, got into the Johnny Jumper and even had a little baby food!
My 2 boys...look at how big they both are. I swear before long people may think we had twins because Kail is growing so fast. I will admit this...Kail is so much like me! He laughs like me and snorts like me if something is really funny. He also cries just like me...If I get to upset I can't catch my breath and make this cute sound. He may not look like his Momma but his laughs and cries prove it!
Andy built me these cubbies under the bar in out kitchen. It was all open for bar stools but I wanted a place for stuff. I think it came out great and looks like it has been there forever! So as you can see we have been super duper busy with LIFE!

Doctor's Checkups!

Drew had his 2 year old checkup on Thursday. He weighed 27 lbs and is 34 inches tall! I just can't beliee he is so big sometimes! He did not need any shots and was great when they took his blood. The nurse pricks his finger and the squeezes blood out into a little vial. He never cried and barely even moved! I think he was tickled to have a band-aid to show off his boo boo!

Kail had hos 4 month checkup and is HUGE! Kail weighes 15 lbs and is 23 inches tall! So close to catching Drew! He can start to try to eat cereal once a day by spoon and does not like it! He is growing like a weed! Kail had to have 3 shots and was a mess...It was awful on him! He finally today seems back to normal but has nice bruises on his legs!

Other than that everyone is Great!

Our Weekend Away!

Andy and I had a blast being away for the weekend. Macky was so sweet and she watched the kids all weekend so we could go away all alone and relax! We went to Tallasee, TN which is near the "Tail of the Dragon." The Dragon is a 11 mile streach of 318 curves that Motorcyclists and Car Enthusists come from all over to experience. It is very neat and has some wicked curves! Andy was a little sad that we took the car but he enjoyed driving it and hopes one day we can return with the motorcycle.

We spent Saturday in Gatlinburg, TN and Andy was thrilled to see Cooter's Garage. Getting to see the General Lee made it all worth a day of shopping!

Sunset on the way back to our cabin from Gatlinburg, TN. We were on the Foothills Parkway which was a beautiful scenic road.

Andy and I at Bald River Falls...It was beautiful and so hard to take a picture using the timer. We were in the water on some rocks and I had to jump across to get from the camera to Andy! It was funny and then I was shocked at how awesome the picture was of us! I felt like a professional photographer after that!

Bald River Falls is in TN off of the Cherehala Skyway which is another huge motorcycle touring road, surprise surprise! We did climb up into the water fall and it was amazing...It was a 40 foot climb and I was a little scared! We had a great trip and the boys had a lot of fun with Macky...she spoiled them both!

Busy Busy Bees...

Well things have been crazy. On Tuesday, Drew had his visit with Diedre (teacher from Governor Morehead) and she brought her supervisor, Sandy, along to do a functional vision assessment. This assessment gives them a better idea of focus areas for therapy to strengthen his vision. Sandy was just blown away with him and how many things he does visually rather than with touch....to her that means he can see pretty darn good! She really thought he was amazing and again we focus a lot of attention on to learning school skills like coloring, drawing, cutting and so on. That way we can keep him way ahead of the game! We have been working on making Drew a little office area and refinishing Andy's old Desk! He will love it!

Then yesterday, Ashley (developmental therapist) came and Diedre was here to meet her for the first time. They kinda tag teamed him to keep him busy and allow both of them some time with him. They talked about areas that we are working on and how they both can focus on those aspects together. I think it went well and everyone will be working as a team to support Drew.

I took the foam bath letters and spelled Drew and Kail with them. Drew took them down and then I asked him to give me the Blue D, Purple R...and so on. He did recognize them and gave them to me to spell his name on the wall again. Pretty cool! He has gotten his Alphabet started...He can say A,B,C but then he gets lost in something else! He is so goofy!

Kail is just fine and spoiled as ever. All he wants is someone to hold him and love him which no one has time to do! But most days he honestly does get held a lot between, Me, Andy and Macky! I hope he will one day be less clingy but I was a super clingy baby and kinda still am when it comes to my Mom! Funny huh?

Andy and I are running away tomorrow for the weekend and we are so excited! We are going to the mountains on the Tennessee/North Carolina border. I can't wait and neither can he! Macky is so sweet and agreed to watch the kids so we can go away. I just hope she lives thru the weekend with the 2 monsters! Say a prayer for her survival thru the weekend and us to have a safe trip!
